Today was Volunteer day for the Homeschoolers at the Nursing Home. It was the first thing we've gone to for the Homeschoolers co-op and we really enjoyed ourselves. We got to meet two other families and Emily was excited about seeing other kids. Everytime she meets more homeschool kids she gets excited because when she left public school she was worried she'd never get to play with kids. We met three nice ladies that were sitting at our table. Miss Maxine, Miss Myrtle and Miss Emma. The kids all helped put together a little flower craft. Emily did one with my help and then her and Logan helped Miss Maxine do one. Miss Maxine let Emily take it home with her and I think we're gonna get a picture to put in it and bring back to her sometime. I think it's so great that people go and visit folks in the nursing homes. I'm really glad we went today and it was great to get to meet more homeschooling families.

Home Burns
Today was a sad day. We were going to town with my aunt Crystal and had to stop off to give my uncle some lunch. He had been at work but ran a street over to help put out a house fire. This woman's house burned to the ground today. Her pooch was saved but she lost her cat. She is 90 years old. I happened to have my camera with me and took some photographs and a video. If you watch the video you will hear the scum of human kind. A man trying to get down the road yells in the beginning of my video for a "firetruck" to get the hell out of the road... The firetruck that was trying to get to this fire. Yet this man was in such a hurry as he passed by this burning home he had to yell out his window at the truck. I wish I'd have gotten a look at his face or license plate. It is a shame how shameful people can act.

I know this is not a laughing matter but this picture cracks me up. This firefighter is hosing down the propane tank that is about ten feet from this blazing fire... If I were him I think I'd be standing a little farther from the tank LOL

My silly son Brett decided to be a toy today! He is getting so big! He turned two in December and he acts like he's twice that old. He loves to snuggle and is sitting on my lap right now as I'm typing this. He has the cutest way of talking that I just love so much. He is also quite the singer. He loves to sings songs and likes to play the drums. Maybe one day he'll be a drummer and a singer. I love to imagine what he will be when he grows up. I hope I can do a good job being his mamma. I hope I can be a good mamma to all my kids and when they're older I pray that they'll think I was the best Mom they could ever have hoped to have. I'm sure blessed to be the mamma of my three kids.

This was pretty funny! Chris and I play with a band called
"Russ Weeks & MO Country"
Well tonight we were trying to get a band picture taken using the timer on my camera. We got everyone all lined up for a picture and I pushed the timer button and ran to my spot in the picture... but when the green light got done flashing it just stayed on... and stayed on... and didn't take a picture... So I was confused and couldn't figure it out.... Turns out I had it on video :p So now you get to watch me be a dope lol but it's funny.

These are the two best pics I took but I think in this first one Dan has his eyes closed and I am in front of Chris so the second one is probably the best. We need to hire a photographer I thinks :p

So here is a little look into my home. Chris and I have been married going on 8 years now. We've lived in the same house all these years and we've been trying to finish the basement as well. The top floor of our house is finished but not the basement. When I first met Chris we didn't even have stairs going down to the basement. We've been living in the top floor of our house with two small bedrooms and one measly bathroom. It's been a tight squeeze all these years, especially when it came time for a new baby every few years. All five of us have been squeezed together and now I think we're about to get more space!
This is the laundry room in our basement. It has sheetrock and carpet and did have a ceiling but we had to tear it down today to redo some plumbing. So this is what it looks like now.
This is the doorway to the stairs
This is the hallway in the basement
This will be Emily's room.
This will be mine and Chris's room
This will be Logan and Brett's room
And this is the other hallway from the stairs.
This is all the crap I had under my kitchen sink LOL. We had to pull it all out to do some plumbing. I'm thinking most of this can go in the trash.
And this video is just a little tour :p Enter if you dare!!!

Ok for anyone who doesn't already know here is my official announcement... Chris and I have decided it is best for our family to homeschool our children. We have been homeschooling since the last part of January.

Today we went to a conservation demonstration for a small group of homeschoolers. It was really interesting. Brett even sat through the entire thing and payed attention to every word. The kids got to see different animals and touch the animal skins the conservationist passed around. They brought home a bunch of different booklets and a poster but the favorite item was a little card with animal prints on it. Emily wants to go out and track some critters now!

After the demonstration some of the group went to Dairy Queen and we had lunch and let the kids go out to play on the playground. It was nice to let the kids get out of the house. It's been so cold lately they haven't been outside much. The wind was blowing terribly so it wasn't nice and warm but the sun was shining and it wasn't freezing so everyone had a good time. Here's a few pictures I took.

Before the big ice storm hit I had taken the kids to the city park in another town. They love going there to feed the ducks and play on the playgrounds. I wish our town had a better park. The Bolivar park is such a nice place to go and spend a few hours. The parks in our town bore my children after about 15 minutes. There's just not much to do there. These are some of the pictures we took on our day out.

Emily was so good about helping Brett go down the slides.

We always save our stale crackers and bread to feed the ducks.
